The Coffin

Posted : 15 years ago on 17 April 2009 05:45 (A review of The Coffin)

First of all, the good thing about this Thailand movie is that you can watch it in English. It seems like Asian cinema is going back to the making awesome horror films. Asian Horror was ruling with films like: The Eye, A Tale of Two Sisters, Phone, Shutter, One Missed Call, Re-cycle, Alone, Ju-on, Ringu and Dark Water. They hit a slump with movie after movie of the long-haired female ghost claiming victims. They have recaptured the spotlight with films like: Epitaph, Hansel & Gretel and Death Bell. The Coffin looks awesome. It is nice to see the gorgeous Karen Mok in a serious role.
Anyways, check it yourself.

Corky Romano

Posted : 15 years ago on 16 April 2009 10:30 (A review of Corky Romano)

Funny Comedy.
This comedy, directed by Rob Pritts, does not provide quite enough laughs to warrant a recommendation. It's not as bad as some people are saying, and if you are into fart, klutz, crotch, and gay jokes, and lowbrow physical humor, "Corky Romano" might be your ticket to fun. I prefer my humor a little more sophisticated, though.
